What Happens in Vegas... After Dark by Jodi Lynn Copeland, Anya Bast, Lauren Dane and Kit Turnstall

This is an anthology of four stories, all taking place in Las Vegas, and all with a strong, added dose of sensuality.

"Hot for Revenge" by Jodi Lynn Copeland, pairs succubus Desire with Firefighter Ryan Dempsey. When Ryan failed to save his ex-girlfriend from a fire, it left him with a boatload of baggage. Unfortunately for Ryan, Jada was Desire's best friend, and his inability to save her has made her determined to make him pay... with his life!

Fortunately for Ryan, Desire is succumbing to his masculine charm. But when he falls in love with her, she begins to return the sentiment. But is it enough to save him when she sucks out some of his life force every time they get horizontal? And can love save him from her revenge?

"Sensual Magic" by Lauren Dane introduces us to Nell Hunter, a hunter on the trail of a very bad witch. The only one who might know where her target is now is William Emery, the witch's ex-fiancee. He has no idea where Leah Mathers is now, but he's almost willing to say anything if it gets him closer to Nell.

But Nell's world is not the normal human world, and exposure to the creatures and people there could blow Will's mind. But is he willing to give up his sane, normal life for a life of supernatural surprises with Nell- and will he even get the chance?

"Divine Desires" by Kit Tunstall introduces Devi, a tattoo artist whose blood holds just the magic needed for Malkiel Nixa to save his Warlock father, dying of poison. But taking this magic will kill Devi, and requires him to form a sensual connection with her.

But when Malkiel finds himself falling for the lovely and sensual woman, he regrets his decision. Can he save Devi *and* his father, and unmask the traitor who would like to see both he and his father die?

"The Promise" by Anya Bast gives us Damien, who is about to be married to his fiancee, Cassidy, when he is abducted by strange men who take him to a strange club where he meets a woman named Elena. She tells him why he has been abducted- he's actually a fae, and to become part of their people, he must be saved from marrying Cassidy, a woman who is totally wrong for him.

But Damien is attracted to Elena as well. And while she is a Princess of Faerie, and engaged to be married to another man, they share a heartstring, a connection that cannot be denied. But when she and Damien would rather be married to each other, can he undergo the ritual that would allow him to win her hand... and let them be together forever?

I was a little disappointed with the book, because even though each of these tales is set in Sin City, it's no more than a point of information in most of the stories- as in "whoo, this is set in Las Vegas- now on to the story". I mean, really, most of them could have been set anywhere, and I do mean anywhere. Only "Sensual Magic" used Las Vegas as more than a throwaway setting mentioned once and then never again.

But that mostly didn't bother me when I was reading, because the stories were hot enough that my attention wasn't on the setting, but the story itself. And yes, they are hot- hot enough to be labelled more as erotica than romance stories, but not so much that the sex is the whole focus of the story.

All of the stories are well-done, but I admit that my favorite was "Hot for Revenge", as I felt the most connected to those characters during the story. They were all good, but I never got as much inside the heads of the other characters as much, or so it seemed to me. I'd recommend it for a good, hot read, but most of the stories aren't ones you are going to read over and over again.
