The Star Trek Cookbook by Ethan Phillips and William J. Birnes

Neelix was an explorer in the Delta Quadrant, but when he became a crewman on the U.S.S. Voyager, he took over a new job as Cook and morale officer. Bringing a new set of ingredients and a new set of tastes (at least some of them welcome) to the Voyager's Crew. Neelix spent his time cooking and trying to replicate some of the favorite dishes of the crew using ingredients from the Delta Quadrant he called home.

This is a book of his dishes, helpfully translated into ingredients available in Sector 001 of the Alpha Quadrant, better known as Earth. But Neelix doesn't just talk about his own dishes. He has researched the favorite foods of other famous Star Fleet officers, such as the Crew of the Original Enterprise, the Enterprise-D and the Crew of Deep Space Nine, adding them here for the delectation of his readers.

Interspersed with the recipies are commentaries from William Birnes, the man who designed and made the food used on many of the Star Trek shows. He tells how you can make your food look and seem otherworldly without grossing out your guests or yourself, and even tells you how to make drinks that look like your favorite drinks from the show, from synthehol (Non-alcoholic beer like O'Douls) to Romulan Ale (Blue Gatorade).

Filled with recipies from the show and from actors on the show, this book is enthralling, and not just for people who enjoy Star Trek. With its tips on how to make food look strange and otherworldly, and how to inject a bit of fun into any cocktail party, you can have fun setting up an out of this world banquet of your own. Or if the show is more your thing, you can prepare your own favorites and serve some Chateau Picard of your own. Packed with great recipies and more fun than a barrel of Drunken Kazon, this book will satisfy your hunger for food and out of this world drinks!
