This book, though now sadly out of date (since the series is ended) provides a way for fans of the Harry Potter book to read about and think about the clues and recurring themes in the Harry Potter books, and to think about what clues J. K. Rowling was leaving for books 6 and 7 in her writing.
The book goes through the chapters, pointing out the more significant clues in the books, both about characters and what is to come, making you appreciate all the more the kind of work Rowling put into her writing, and the many mythological and literary references that litter her writing.
They also point out the kind of puns and Onomotopeia (such as Occlumency being "A Clue Men See" when pronounced slowly) that fill the pages of the book.
Included are three punch-outs that include: an "HP Sleuth" card, a card with the four rules of J.K. Rowlings writing (such as #3- There is no such thing as a coincidence) and a list of "Running Bits" to look out for as you read. The book also asks questions for readers to ponder as they read, as well as answering frequently asked questions by readers.
Even though this book is definitely out of date, it still provides enjoyment and things to look for in J.K. Rowlings work, even on a re-read. Now, for many readers, this may be simply too much work, and if you just enjoy reading the books for the pleasure it gives you, that is perfectly fine. But for those who want to delve deeper, this book still provides a valuable resource that can add to your enjoyment of the books.
